Tens of thousands of years ago, the future of our two species became intertwined forever, and an estimated 50% of U.S. households are now home to at least one dog. Why is it then that we so resolutely persecute the wild counterparts of our best friends? As I write this, there are campaigns in North America to hunt down and exterminate wolves simply for being (culls and states where hunting has been liberalized), and it breaks my heart that a unique community like British Columbia's coastal wolves is on the rocks due to fear and contempt.
